What is the story?

With many, many reimaginings across the screen, stage, literature, and more, there have been Cinderella stories since recorded history began. From the Ancient Greeks to the Brothers Grimm and beyond, it is one of the world's most beloved fairytales, following the story of a young serving girl elevated to the princess when she catches the eye of the Prince at the royal ball. The Scottish Ballet's version sees the action begin in the early 20th Century, where the young Cinders is a shop-girl at her family-run store, whose life is turned upside down by the arrival of her new stepmother, the vicious Madame Thorne...
